Jacky Ickx, who raced in Formula 1 from 1966 to 1979, is by most measures the best driver never to win a world championship — six Le Mans 24 Hours victories and a reputation among his peers that outran his title count. Belgium's F1 identity is built almost entirely around his career, and the home driver to match the Spa-Francorchamps circuit's prestige hasn't really repeated since.
